[B] Scope of Service:

(1) Vendor needs to provide 911 call handling protocols for police, fire, and emergency medical services for overseeing and managing the state-wide 911 program in state, part of that responsibility includes facilitation of support systems used by the 911 call-takers to help manage emergency calls, calls are taken in six public safety answering points that are geographically dispersed around the state, state utilizes a single state-wide ng911 system, which currently is a hosted solution provided by consolidated communications, there are approximately 135 certified 911 call-takers in state, calls taken in one part of the state will be answered first in the public safety answering points assigned to the area where the call originates, but a call taken in one part of the state may be answered in any other public safety answering points depending on call volume, the calls are distributed dynamically by the system. using a common call-taker protocol system is critical to our ability to maintain service levels regardless of where the call is answered to the government authority located in Montpelier, VT.
- The board procures and pays for the technology and support systems used for 911 call-taking in the public safety answering points, the 911 call-takers are employed by the public safety answering points, which are located in state, local or regional police communication centers, currently, the 911 system is not tied into a state-wide computer aided dispatch system, and not all emergency dispatch sites are currently connected to the state’s emergency service’s ip network, state currently uses a manual protocol system for police, fire and emergency medical dispatch
(2) All questions must be submitted no later than April 5, 2019.
(3) The term of the contract shall be two years.
